JAMES DYSON AWARD 2010

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers.  Run by the James Dyson Foundation, the award aims to support a large number of university level students within the product design, industrial design and engineering fields, and to promote and recognise good quality entries.

The international winner, to be announced on the 5th of October, will receive £10,000, a visit to one of the research and development facilities in either Malaysia or the UK, an award trophy, and a university departmental award of £10,000.

SS SECURITY FOR THE MASSES

The LaCie Rugged Safe offers biometric authentication, is compatable with the lastest versions of Mac and Windows, boasts AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), and is shock-proof.  Designed by Neil Poulton, this hard drive has already won several awards, not to mention it has the same standard of security used by the U.S. government and worldwide organisations to protect critical documents.  I want one just for the sake of it.
